Living in a Prison of Their Own Making

Unless you have been living in a cave for the past two months, you are aware that the Democratic party is, well, ripping itself apart. Tears have been shed, insults have been exchanged (Hillary's a monster! Ferraro is a racist! Obama is no Patriot!), and Judas and McCarthy were resuscitated during Easter. Whew!

The Democratic primary has been endlessly entertaining, but even more gratifying is seeing how this time Democrats cannot blame the "Republican Machine", "the vast right wing conspiracy" or Karl Rove for their problems. No, this time there is only one culprit- the Democratic Party itself.

Thoughtful Democrats may ask themselves "How did we get here?"Here are some reasons why the Democrats are living in a prison of their own making...

1. A Bad Decision: The first woman with a real chance of becoming President should never have run against the first Black person with a real chance of becoming President in the primary. This is not because women should never run against Black men; it is because a female Democrat should never have run against a Black Democrat. Why? Because once the nominee was selected, either female Democrats or Black Democrats were going to feel alienated and disappointed by the result.Normally, voter alienation and disappointment are not a problem. For example, most Conservatives were disappointed that Romney, Huckabee or Thompson did not win the Republican primary. But Conservatives understand that in any contest there is a winner and a loser. They are starting to rally around McCain (especially when either Democrat will bring "change"- in the form of Communism). Liberals, on the other hand, do not seem to understand that in every contest there are winners and losers (Don’t believe me? see #3 about proportional primaries below).

2. Bad Leadership (read: Howard Dean and the DNC): While most voters realized that Howard Dean had no leadership skills in 2000, he has proven to be an incompetent manager as well. Dean should have realized that Hillary and Obama could not run against one another without inevitably hurting the party. He did not. He should step in now and tell Hillary to back down. He has not (maybe he's too busy ranting about "McCain keeping us in Iraq for 100 years" Yeehaw!).

3. Bleeding Heart Liberalism (a.k.a. "Cool Parent Syndrome"): Liberals want to be the "Cool Parents." You know, those parents who not only smoke pot with their kids, but hook them up with a dealer, pay for the goods and light the joint for them, too. "Cool Parents" coddle their kids, Democrats coddle their primary voters. It is this thought process that led the DNC to create a proportional primary system. Instead of adopting a mostly winner take all system where the likelihood of declaring a clear winner is high, the DNC chose to adopt a completely proportional system where even losers get delegates. The result? A primary election that is three months long and nowhere near over. No one will feel left out! No one will be alienated! Except that because they have a woman and a Black man running, when the nominee is declared one of two things will happen: (1)women/ Blacks will feel left out; or (2)women/Blacks will feel alienated.

4. Race/ Gender Cards (a.k.a. Democratic Body Armor): Once upon a time, the race and gender cards were invented. Some Dem was arguing and in the heat of the moment he said two magic words "You're racist (or sexist)!" Ever since that day, liberals everywhere have repeated this mantra whenever a Republican was talking about anything having to do with race or gender. Recently, however, something changed... the Obama campaign pulled the race card on Geraldine Ferraro, a Democrat! Republicans everywhere thought "That's change we can believe in!" And the Democratic Party is starting to implode.

Democrats only have themselves to blame. And if you listen hard enough Republicans are starting to believe... Yes. We. Can. (win in November).

I'm glad to see that it's not only the famous left-wingers that can be witty and clever ladies.

"Living in a prison of their own making" is something of an understatement. It's more like they're living in a world all their own...
A world where racist and ignorant statements can be bellowed from a church pulpit, and fly under the radar because they are the "words of god."
A world where blatantly lying to the people's faces is acceptable because you're tired.
A world where throwing your grandmother under the bus is completely acceptable, as long as you're defending a bigot.
A world where imaginary snipers and soccer teams exist as long as nobody finds out about them.
Basically, a world where everyone is ignorant except for B. Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton.
I for one am appalled by the audacity of the democratic candidates. How can they presume that we (yes, we the people of the United States of America) will not look into their delusions of grandeur? Is it that they believe us stupid, or just that they are untouchable because they are the first black man, and white woman to legitimately be considered for office? As offensive as i find their attempts to dodge the issues and pull the wool over voter's eyes , I find the liberal media to be just as repugnant as their candidates.
How can they try and downplay the issues at hand? How can they truly believe that a beautifully written (not by B. Hussein himself) speech is enough to make us forget that he sat in that pew, week after week, year after year? How can they believe that in all that time Mr. B.H. Obama never picked up a single racist, or anti-american sentiment? Can they truly be serious when they try to turn Hillary's "white lies" (for lack of a better term) into a huge stink of Rev. Wright proportions? Sadly for the media, Reverend Wright won't be going away anytime soon and by supporting him, B. Hussein is only digging his grave deeper. I'm sure that the "garlic noses" and "bloodsuckers" will be jumping into the liar's camp soon enough.
Ok, perhaps I'm being a little harsh on Barack Hussein...
Maybe he did listen to the teaching of a wild, old bigot and never feel badly toward America. Perhaps he DOESN'T believe that the white man created AIDS to kill off the black man. Maybe his wife really did have a change of heart, and she reaaaaaally Does love America for the first time in her life. Heck, maybe her speech about truly loving the U.S. was heartfelt and truthful. Maybe his complete lack of experience or lack of any agenda whatsoever is exactly what the U.S. needs to bounce back on its feet and have an economic surge that will put the rest of the planet to shame. Maybe having that hypocrite Al Gore as his running mate will make the world a better, safer, and eco-friendly place. All these things are possible, though highly unlikely. A word of advice to Mr. B. Hussein Obama, ditch te reverend and tuck your tail between your legs and apologize to your grandmama.
I'd love to sit here and rip into Senator Clinton, but honestly, I'm prone to go out and vote for her, ala Rush Limbaugh. I also suggest every conservative go out and do the same.
TAKE ME TO JAIL!
Having conservatives taken away in shackles will do wonders for our image. Look at O.J. Simpson... It worked for him didn't it?
In summation, Racism is bad, Lying is bad, and having no idea what you're gonna do once you get into office, that's bad too. We need to make sure that we're living in the "REAL WORLD", where hard work will allow you to open new doors. Where morals and pride in one's nation account for more than just a hill of beans. We conservatives have to band together and do our part to make sure that the dems have no possibility of getting their candidate into office.
The last thing we need is another JIMMY CARTER.

Dear Penelope:
It is so easy that even a Cave man can understand it. I am so disappointed with these candidates that I migth vote for the third Democratic candidate Mr. McCain.
